Swimming against the tide

A small oil painting created from two mackerel about to be eaten for dinner. I would like myself to be more rebellious but that requires a couldn't care less attitude which I don't really possess. I just content myself with portrayals of rebellion, happy to be different from others, while being fundamentally the same.
An unusual day today. While visiting Paisley Art Institutes' annual exhibition, I met, for the first time, one of my favourite artists, Eleanor McGowan, whom I recognised from her own website arthoose which I had been looking at only yesterday. I enjoyed the opportunity to have an interesting two-way conversation with a professional, working artist. Now that's unusual!

Tomassino del Gatto (aka Leo)

Sleeps all day, hunts all night. This is him in preparation for the his nightime exertions which no doubt I'll find the results of on my back doorstep tomorrow morning.

Leo

This moggy adopted me last summer and quickly inveigled his way into our home and hearts. He sleeps just about all day in my chair and goes out hunting all night only to come back in the morning for something to eat, a cuddle and a five minute nap on my lap before going out chasing meeces again. This morning I saved a tiny fieldmouse from his grasp for which I received a look of sheer disgust! He's dozing just now upside down as if butter wouldn't melt in his jaws.
